pdflatex nedeli cestinu (linux)

Preji Hezky den,
TeXisti, a prosim vas o radu (opet). Po neuspesnych pokusech rozjet
pdftex v emTeXu pro DOS, jsem pristoupil na radu ucastnika teto
konference (omlouvam se, nevzpominam si na jmeno - dekuji mu) a
upgradnul jsem tetex na svem linuxiku. A mnohe se zlepsilo.
LaTeX uz hlasi jen nejake overfull \hbox, ale vypisuje v tom
hlaseni sekvence ^^V apod misto diakritiky. Ale to mi moc nevadi.
Problem je, kdyz spustim pdflatex. Vygeneruje sice krasny pdf
soubor, ktery je citelny v arcoreadu, ale ma divne prupovidky
pri louskani textu (vypis je na konci meho psani). Jedna z nich je,
ze babel varuje, ze nenalezl vzory pro deleni cestiny a opravdu,
slova jsou rozdelena ne podle ceskych zvyklosti.
