Perly TeXoveho programovani

Vazeni kolegove,

vidim, ze na teto diskusni skupine se obcas najdou lidi, ktere napadaji
ruzne TeXove makro-silenosti. Dovolil jsem si na zaklade toho preposlat
zadost pana Ludwichowskeho. Pokud mate v zasobe svych vlastnich maker
nejakou vhodnou "perlu", zkuste ji na sekci "perly TeXoveho programovani"
prihlasit.

Subject: The Pearls of TeX Programming

Dear Petr,

the title of the forthcoming BachoTeX 2005 conference is "The Art of TeX
Programming" therefore, under the motto: "Behold"---Bhaskara (cf. e.g.,
http://www.aurora.edu/mathematics/bhaskara.htm), we are organizing a
"Pearls of TeX Programming" session during which TeX shorties will be
presented.

What is wanted:

   * short TeX, MF or MP macro/macros (preferably a few lines)
   * results should be virtually useful yet not obvious
   * easy to explain: 10 minutes at most

You are kindly asked to provide the source of a macro (macros) and a
display (or a short description) of the result. Altogether it should be
not more than one A4 page. Preferably -- a half of A4.

Please note that this is not a contest!

We await your contribution even if you are unable to attend the
conference. In such a case you are free either to elect one of the
participants to present your work or "leave the proof to the gentle
reader" aka "Behold". The latter you can do anyway...

Needless to say that all contributions will be published in a separate
section of the conference proceedings.
