: At least some of the bigger HP4 (HP4L, HP4, HP4M) have a bug in their
: floating point ROM. HP knows aboout this bug, but sells these buggy
: ROMs anyway. Dependending where you live, and how good you negotiate,
: your dealer or your local HP representation will give you a correct
: working ROM for free.
:
: The bug is rare seen, except when you use dvips or the like which use
: the floating point intensively.
:
: With ghostscript you can print PS files on (almost) every printer.
: For documents not containing PS graphics, you can print directly
: to your HP using EM's drivers.
: But you should avoid getting the buggy ROM nevertheless.
:
: If you (and others) want to test, if their printer contains the buggy ROM,
: I can sent you small detecting files. (Or look at comp.lang.postscript)
: (Maybe you should look in this newsgroup anyway, some people there are
: proposing to boycott HP until they stop selling buggy printers...)
